"Students who take Marshall's class will learn how to analyze specific subjects or film types. 'I always try to situate the material within the time frame it was created,' she says. 'After all, art, including cinema, isn’t created in a vacuum. There are reasons a film exists when it does, why it looks like it does, and why it affects who it does.'"
